sgnl strap: answer calls through your fingertip

WHAT

A smart wrist-strap that lets you answer phone calls via your fingertip – no earphone necessary. Replaces the strap on your Apple Watch, Samsung Gear or Pebbe Time smart watch or any analog wrist-watch. Simply place your fingertip to your ear while speak through the embedded microphone.

WHY

  • clearer calls, even in noisy public spaces (background noises blocked)
  • privacy: sound is contained within the users’ ear- only the wearer can hear the call.
  • accessibility: fast and easy response to phone calls
  • no fussing with earphones, no searching for phone in pockets or bags
  • makes your Smart Watch even smarter
  • call reminders & notification
  • Fitness Tracker
  • rudimentary music-streaming (secondary function for now)
  • safe: vibration only, no ultrasonic or electromagnetic waves
  • looks cool

HOW

Body Conduction Unit (BCU), capable of transmitting vibrations through the body, which is then converted to sound. Sgnl communicates with the user’s phone through Bluetooth, and when a voice signal is received, Sgnl will generate vibrations through its BCU. These vibrations will be sent through the users’ hand to their fingertip. When users place their fingertip to their ear, the vibration echoes to create amplified sound within the closed space of their ear and they can speak through the microphone embedded in the Sgnl strap. Battery life: up to 7 days on standby, or 4 hours continuous phone use.
